What is the Screen-Free Sunday Challenge?
It’s a 24-hour experiment in presence.
No phone. No laptop. No TV. No endless scroll.
Just you, and everything else that’s been waiting for your attention.
A chance to pause the autopilot. Interrupt the urge.
Choosing, just for one day, to see what happens when the noise goes away.
You might feel:
Restless.
Clear.
Bored.
Creative.
Aimless.
Completely alive.
Whatever shows up — that’s the insight.
The better prepared you are, the more powerful (and surprisingly meaningful) this challenge can be.
Join the Challenge to get the free guide to help you plan ahead, handle the hard parts, and complete 24 full hours off screens.
Why Do the Challenge?
When was the last time you put everything away
(your phone, your laptop, the constant notifications)
and just sat with your thoughts, your people, or your own creative spark?
The research is sobering:
We check screens an average of over 250 times a day.
Screen use is linked to increased anxiety, reduced attention span, inability to focus, and a shrinking capacity to sit with discomfort and our own thoughts.
We are more digitally connected than ever, and sadly more isolated, distracted, and depleted than we’ve ever been.
This experiment in presence will help elucidate your relationship to your devices, and where you may need to address your use of them, in order to reset your nervous system, boost creativity, and rebuild real connection, with yourself and with others.
Try it and see what changes in just 24 hours.
You might be surprised by what you notice. And what happens when you return to the screens.
What participants from the previous Challenges said:
"I am hoping to use the motivation from this to make changes in everyday life to limit my screen usage; not stop using them or go off screens but to be aware and intentional about their usage. There is this feeling in the back of mind now, telling me that I need to control these devices rather than letting them control me." - Nav A
"Kelsey set us up for success in the program. She allowed us to think things through with meaningful prompts. I felt empowered to manage my screen free day and actually made it all 24-hours! Thanks for the support and opportunity." -Mel M.
"Physically, I know my body benefited from the freedom of the phone. Holding my phone every day and staring at that small screen really bothers my posture, shoulders, arms, back, wrists, hands and eyes. Not to mention the fact that I mostly do this while sitting. Isn't sitting the current "chain smoking?!" - Nancy B.
"This challenge gave me insight on how much I rely on the TV to keep me company. I am going to be more intentional about what I choose to watch and how often. Staying busy all day helped with keeping the remote away. I was blown away with how big my step count was." -Devin
"This was such a fascinating and enlightening challenge! Between realizing how easily distracted I can become by all the screens in my life to having an opportunity to just be present for the little things – this challenge was such a gift." -Anonymous
"Kelsey's Screen-free challenge felt strange at first, but I reconnected with some personal practices that are important to me and that work better without interruption. It was a great opportunity to have a reason to schedule screen-free time - having a structure and knowing others were doing it, too, made it more communal and fun, in a way. I'll do it on the regular! Thanks, Kelsey! -Anonymous
